I love anything from Teedra Moses!!! Theres just no way around it. I believe that everybody who's into good music should have at that 1 artist their into that is an underdog, it shows your good taste. I fell in love with this woman's voice from the moment I heard her slept-on classic Complex Simplicity back in the summer of 2004. I was at school in Texas and was on a mall trip with my fellow classmates (I was a freshman with no car, go figure)and I made my usual stop at the FYE store(as was my tradition) before or after I would hit the food court. Before I would know anything about iTunes or the workings of an iPod I would be browsing the retail store's R&B and Hip-Hop selection for a barcode I could scan to listen to a few 30 second previews of the music I might be interested in buying. If I can recall, it was around the time I was into anything Chopped & Screwed(I mean, this is TX!!!!) so if I didnt find an album that caught my interest, I was definitely buying the latestBoss Hogg Outlawz mixtape for like $5.99(Or something like that). One day I was previewing Complex Simplicity for the first time and as you already know I instantly fell in love. I think I was in a daze, maybe a trance, I had never heard anything like this before, it was beyond just some regular Pop and R&B, it was consistently Cool Pop and R&B.
It made you feel good while you were grooving to the beat, bobbing your head with that serious look on ya face, you know that thing you do when you know your eardrums are catching a buzz. You didnt even need a drink for how drunk you was off the music!!!! I'm jus sayin'
So I made the purchase, got my receipt, ripped through that difficult plastic packaging and popped the CD into my Sony Discman and once I pressed play I had this beyond amazing LP on repeat.
So hears a track for your virgin (or not so virgin) ears and I hope you enjoy it. This jam should have gotten instant radio play back in '04 because it has that commercial appeal in my honest opinion. It fits the format of a Cherrelle classic minus the Alexander O'Neal(No shade) and will have you thinkin you might need a champagne glass at that mansion party you hit up in Buckhead. (wit yo fine self!!!)
